Mwangi Hutter—born Ingrid Mwangi and Robert Hutter in Kenya and Germany, respectively—are an internationally renowned husband-wife artist team operating as a single entity to reflect on themes of identity and interconnectedness. Their work often incorporates video, installation, and performance, and in the case of this show, big, beautiful, figurative paintings.Their work has been shown across Africa, Asia, Europe, the United States and South America, at the Bienal de Sao Paulo, Venice Biennale, the Brooklyn Museum, Smithsonian Institution - National Museum of African Art, Centre Pompidou in Paris, Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt, Dak’Art Biennale, and Mori Museum in Tokyo amongst others.
